April 17, 2013

  • Having trouble in choosing the perfect stylus for your iPad or tablet? Here is a list of styluses with details to help you choose the perfect one for you. Let’s face the fact that our fingers aren’t enough to do the creative and productive stuff like writing, drawing or painting. Stylus comes to the rescue, no more smudging finger prints at your screen. Investing on something like stylus will make your job a little easier. You don’t need to be a pro at choosing the best stylus for you; this guide is all you need to choose the perfect one for you.

    Adonit Jot Pro

The Adnoit Jot Pro is the most precise stylus I have ever used, with its innovative design andsuperior build quality it gives the perfect experience on tablet. It is made from aluminum with a pointy tip holding a round plastic disc. It has a rubber grip to give you a good firm holding. The one of the great features is that, it is magnetic, so you can stick it your iPad or similar capability tablet like Google adonit-jot-stylusNexus. It also includes a screw-off cap which protects the tip when you’re not using the stylus, you can screw it at the back when you’re writing, drawing or sketching. The Jot Pro is good for writing and drawing as the round plastic disc lets us see exactly where you are pointing on the screen. The disc won’t breakdown easily in case you’re wondering about being it fragile. The transparent disc can be replaced easily if you’re worried about getting it broken.  Jot Pro is really precise, it is close to using a real life pen. Writing with the Jot Pro is comfortable and the disc glides smoothly over your glass than any other stylus in the market. It is the best stylus money can buy. The only drawback I found in this stylus was the click sound produced when the disc touches the glass. The current version decreases the taping sound, although after sometime you may get used to it. You can buy Adonit Jot pro on amazon.

    Wacom Bamboo Stylus

The Wacom Bamboo Stylus is a beautiful designed modern looking stylus inspired from a regular pen. It has the similar pen clip and the textured rubber grip along the length of the stylus. The stylus weight is seamlessly balanced and it feels good in your hands while taking notes or doodling. The tip is smaller (6mm) than its peer and is completely detachable in case you want to replace it. The pocket clip is also removable in case you don’t want to clip it in your pocket. It is precise and the most responsive stylus in the market. The Bamboo stylus is a rock-solid choice for anyone who is looking for note-taking or drawing. The only drawback I found in this stylus was, it was small and often my hand would hide the image I was working on. It comes in six different colors, so you can buy the one that suits your personality. Buy Wacom Bamboo stylus at 19.20$.

    Kensington Virtuoso Stylus/Pen

kensington-virtuoso-stylus-and-pen-for-ipad2-black_010Kensington Virtuoso Stylus is 5 1/8” long stylus; it’s perfect for those with big hands. It’s coated with a soft touch rubber which makes it more gripping while handling. Apart from the stylus functionality it also has a pen which can be easily used by popping the cap off. Its rubber tip is larger than the Wacom Bamboo stylus and is not as precise as the tip on the Bamboo or Jot Pro. But it is good for those who are looking for a pen as well a stylus. The ball point pen is good for daily use, but you can also replace them with parker gel ink refills. Taking notes with the Kensington Virtuoso was good; although it does not works that well at sharper angles and changed directions. Grab it on Amazon.

    Studio Neat Cosmonaut

cosmonaut-tipThe Cosmonaut comes with a minimal and a simple design, no fancy stuff. Unlike other styli which are designed to look and feel like a regular pen this stylus looks like an eraser marker. It gives an experience close to writing on a whiteboard, with its marker type design. It is great for simple doodling, writing stuff and drawing quick figures and graphs. If you are into sketching and drawing, this is not the best option as it’s hard to see what you’re drawing. It is smooth on the screen and glides perfectly on a glass screen. It’s made from high quality materials; you can feel it in your hands. The durability is very good and you can easily hand it over to kids without getting it broken. The only thing which Studio Neat should have worked on is the weight, it’s a bit heavy than other styluses. Although, if you are looking for something for writing and rough sketching which comes with maximum durability, cosmonaut is for you. You can get it on Amazon.

    Sensu Brush & Stylus

sensu brush and stylusThe Sensu Brush is the best stylus if you are into painting; it gives the best authentic brush experience on a tablet. It is a 2-in-one tool; you can use it as a brush and when you close the tip you can use the rubber stylus. It gives you the natural drawing experience and bristles are like a real brush. Apart from brush, the stylus tip is hard and will not wear out anytime soon. It’s not that precise to use, I experienced problems while sketching with it. One greater disadvantage is that the brush looks delicate and so I won’t say that it will be durable in a long run as the bristles will wear off. But again, if you want the best painting experience on your tablets, this is the best one for you. Buy it on Amazon.
